The University of Maryland provides state-of-the-art infrastructure and laboratories that support advanced semiconductor, photonics, and quantum research, featuring cleanroom fabrication facilities, nanomaterials characterization tools, and interdisciplinary labs for device design, testing, and system integration.

Fab LabFabLab: 11300sqft lab space, 10200sqft cleanroom, combining processes (ALD, evap, etc.) with in-situ and real time characterization, high temperature compound semiconductors

Aim LabAIMLab: The AIM Lab is dedicated to the characterization of the structure and composition of a broad spectrum of hard and soft materials and biological systems with nanometer resolution.

CALCEThe Center for Advanced Life Cycle Engineering (CALCE) at the University of Maryland is a leading interdisciplinary research center focused on the reliability, safety, sustainment, and lifecycle engineering of electronic components, products, and systems. Established more than 35 years ago, CALCE partners with over 300 companies and conducts pioneering research in areas such as physics-of-failure, accelerated testing, prognostics and health management, supply chain and parts management, and reliability assessment. The center also offers advanced testing and failure analysis services, supports industry and academic standards development, and provides education and professional development through courses, webinars, and symposia. CALCE has extensive laboratories and expertise aimed at helping engineers design and sustain competitive, reliable electronic systems.
